How about you use something more advance!(easy to set up)
Its called xat and has a lot more features then your little chatango(keep in mind that the more features the more downsides you might have).
User:
The users can be displayed on the very right of the chat. separated by ranks, guest, member, moderator, owner, main owner.

Owner/Main Owner - Owners are colorized as gold. Owners and main owner are almost the exact same but the main owner has the ability to reset the chat(make all people who ever visited the chat a guest). Owners can make Moderators, members, and guest. Main Owners can make all that and normal owners.

Moderator - The only thing a moderator can do is make guest and members. They can also give up to 6 hour bans and kick members from chat. They have a silver icon next to name.

Member - Exact same as guest but if the chat was ever set to MEMBERS ONLY then guest will not be able to view the forum at all. They have the moderation features and have a blue icon next to name

Guest - Lowest rank to be on chat. If chat was MEMBERS ONLY then you could not view it.

Profile:
Users will be assigned their own unique profile. You can make your own desired name, have an icon/avatar/picture by all your post, and have a homepage. You can also register so that if your account was ever lost or you went to a different computer then you can sign in and get everything back. Registering is not needed though(Unless you set the feature REGISTERED ONLY)

Possible NEW MEMBERS!:
If you make your chat a GROUP then it is put on a list of chatbox's that are also groups and people can search and find yours. The more people you have on the chatbox at once the more of a chance of somebody finding your chat. Once someone clicks your chat they will see in the description that your chat is part of a forum and have the choice of viewing it or not.

1.Since its more advanced it might take awhile to figure it out. But it will only take 1-30 minutes to learn at most. Thats only if you don't use IM or chats much.
2.The random people that find your chat could be spammers

NOTE: I read over this and realized that there is another billion more features to do(exaggeration maybe). So the stuff you see here may not be everything there is to it.

come on guys, this is an awsome idea lol.
its way better than chatango, and will give bored people something to do.

(i myself spend most my time on xat truthfuly)

OK well here are some more features to convince

- Friends list
- Private 1 on 1 chat
- xat provides smilies
- edit background of chat(owner only)
- add radio station to it( I prefer just adding a separate mixpod player though)
